Community Support Volunteer Program

Through compassionate, non-judgemental listening, Community Support Volunteers help people discover their own answers to the challenges of everyday life.

Are you experiencing stress?  Here are some areas that the Community Support Volunteers may assist you with.

  †   Separation or Divorce

  †   Illness or health issues

†   Loss of a loved one

  †   Change in employment

  †   Communication difficulties

  †   Feeling isolated

  †   Lack of self esteem

†   Responsibility for an elderly or ill relative.

Would it be helpful to have someone to talk to outside of family and friends?

The Community Support Volunteer Program assists people in dealing with “here and now” issues.  We believe that given the opportunity many people can discover their own solutions through thoughtful review and discussion of the issues.

These volunteers do not provide therapy but are trained to offer compassionate, non-judgemental listening which often facilitates the participant in finding solutions.

This program is not intended to replace traditional therapy but to offer mentoring and support with issues that may not require professional counselling.

Those individuals dealing with historical issues or in areas outside the volunteer training will be referred to other community resources.
